The project is aimed to help pupils use aerial photographs and plan perspectives to recognise landmarks and basic human and physical features. They will learn how to devise a simple map and use and construct basic symbols in a key.

This project can be covered in isolation or as part of a project about aerial photos. It is part of the ”KS1 Geography” series of project packs and is designed to create a number of language rich speaking and listening opportunities leading into high quality writing outcomes. Activities leading to written outcomes can be taught as a sequence of lessons or as stand alone activities.
